Sharing Voices Bradford (SVB) is an award winning (NHS) and leading mental health organisation working with black and minority ethnic communities in culturally sensitive and appropriate ways. SVB offers practical one-to-one befriending, drop-in services, volunteering, recovery based solutions and group based self help activity.
We work with women, men, young people from the age of 13 onwards. We work across South Asian, African, African Caribbean, asylum seeker and refugee and Central Eastern and European communities. We particularly welcome people with mental health diagnosis and or living with mental distress. Our organisation welcomes people who are gay, lesbian, transgender and or with different faith or religious backgrounds. Our services are provided by a team of community workers who between them speak 11 community languages.
We work across Bradford and meet people where they feel comfortable, either in groups or on an individual basis. We do outreach work into different centres and also home visits. Our work takes place in partnership with GPs, Bradford District Care Trust, secondary schools, youth services and other community organisations.
