Cuppacare |
We provide a low cost drop-in cafe on Fridays 10am to 1.30pm. Guests receive a friendly welcome. Anyone can come, rest in the warm and meet friends, chat and support. We serve inexpensive Fairtrade tea, coffee, juice and a biscuit; a choice of soups, filled rolls, scones and teacakes. All staffed by volunteers on behalf of Shipley Churches together. There is bookstall with Christian literature and greetings cards. The profits from this are reinvested or given to charity. Because it is in the centre of Shipley, it is very popular, and quite a variety of people use it, including local workers, parents and grandparents with children, groups of walkers and people who come to meet up with friends. Others come in alone and appreciate having someone to talk to over their meal. If you would like to find out how to volunteer at the cafe, please call in and talk to Edna Hague or telephone her on 01274 586962. |
