Although there are already two topics under New Features, at the top level it reports as zero topics under DIVA Website. I presume this is because they are in a subforum. Perhaps there is some way of indicating in the Sub Forum link if there are new posts? Dunno if it matters...

This is certainly something we will investigate, and add if possible.

Thanks for your suggestion.

I'd had thoughts along similar lines actually.  I wonder whether listing the sub-categories vertically, rather than horizontally, would help, as that would allow for a column of category stats relating to each category, so for instance, it might then look like this:

Category 1.............. topic count

Category 2.............. topic count

etc

Alternatively/horizontally, something like this would also work

Subforums: Subforum1 (number of posts), Subforum2 (number of posts), etc.

On some forums it is even possible to distinguish new/unread posts (but I'm ready to live with that not being an option here).

I'm not sure how many levels of nested subfora we might end up with but at each level of drilling down, it would be useful to show that something is happening/has happened. The point is to indicate to visitors that a forum or subforum is active - without which (further) activity is less likely.
