About the role

We are looking for a dynamic and highly motivated individual to join our staffing and recruitment team. You will play an important role in attracting and selecting high-quality seasonal staff in your local region who will work on National Citizen Service with The Challenge programmes in 2018. You will support the delivery of the recruitment strategy through all stages of the process: from initial attraction of applicants, to screening and assessing candidates, planning and placing seasonal staff, overseeing compliance checks and supporting staff with any questions and queries up to the point that they start the programme.

Responsibilities
●  Relationship building and lead generation: Researching and building relationships with a variety of sources of seasonal staff including universities, schools, community organisations, youth charities and public sector organisations.
●  Presentations and Events: organising and presenting at a range of events and fairs to attract seasonal staff.
●  Selection and matching: Using a candidate management system (Salesforce) to screen applications applying to your   geographical area. Ensuring all assessments are filled and regularly leading the group assessments, taking responsibility for running a fair process, ensuring a high quality of experience for candidates and placing appropriately qualified staff into relevant roles.
●  Candidate Relationship Management: Responsibility for effective relationship management with all candidates, ensuring they are engaged throughout the recruitment process, tracking their requirements to ensure the programme is fully staffed, and maintaining a reserve list where required.
● Compliance: Responsibility for ensuring that candidates are compliant with The Challenge’s safeguarding and safer recruitment policies i.e. supporting candidates to complete DBS checks, collecting references and right to work checks.

This is a broad description of likely duties, but your role may vary over time and include a wide range of objectives and experiences. All our team members need to take responsibility for leading projects, driving work forward and being adaptable to changes.

Knowledge, Background & Experience

The successful candidate should have: Essential/ Desirable
1  Relationship-building and networking skills, with experience in engaging with and influencing internal and external stakeholders Essential
2  Experience of recruiting staff or volunteers ideally to work with young people or in the third sector Desirable
3  Experience of using candidate relationship management systems e.g Salesforce Desirable
4  Experience of public speaking and/or presenting to large audiences Desirable
