Events Trainee

Hours: 14 hours per week (over 2 days)
Length of contract: 6 months
Rate: £8.75 per hour with travel subsidiaries available
Report to: Yvonne Carmichael, South Square Centre

Overview

Aimed at emerging creatives looking to gain experience of arts, heritage and community programming and working with a variety of audiences and practitioners, this is an excellent opportunity to work for a small-scale grassroots art, community and heritage organisation South Square Centre, with a regular placement at world class gallery The Hepworth Wakefield.

As a member of the South Square team you will have a key role in the development and delivery of our artistic programme, activities will include marketing (social media and print), programming and installing exhibitions, delivering workshops and devising your own engaging events. At the Hepworth Wakefield you will be supporting the events team with the planning and production of The Hepworth Wakefield Summer Fair, along with other events.  South Square Centre and The Hepworth Wakefield will work together to mentor you throughout the period.
