Senior Support Worker Full Time

Job Description

A Specialist Domestic Violence Service Provider is seeking to recruit a Senior Refuge Support Worker to be responsible for the day to day running of the Project and for managing a team of support workers, to work as directed by policies and procedures in providing a high quality advice, support and advocacy service to victims of domestic abuse.

 

Applicants will provide regular supervision to support workers, and will have responsibility that the work carried out by the support workers is of a high standard. Applicants will be expected to provide out of hours on call, on a rota basis.

 

To work effectively as part of an Inter-agency partnership team and support partners through the provision of specialist advice.

 

Applicants will have evidence of strong casework management skills, good written and verbal communication. Direct experience of providing support to women and an understanding of current welfare rights/civil/criminal legislation relating to domestic violence is essential.

 

 

Requirements

 

Access to a vehicle is essential with Business Insurance.

 

This post is subject to an enhanced (DBS) check.

 

This post is open to women only due to the nature of the role. The occupational requirement under Schedule 9 (part 1) of the Equality Act 2010 applies.

 

Job Type: Full time, Monday – Friday 37 hours a week

 

Salary: £23,836

 

Job Location: Bradford, West Yorkshire,

 

Required education: Bachelor's

 

Required experience:

 

3 years -- Must have direct experience of managing a team

 

3 years - experience working directly with women fleeing Domestic Violence and Abuse within a refuge.
