Third Place Project Worker

Key Purpose

We have an exciting opportunity within our Third Place team to work with street drinkers of Keighley to remove barriers to their engagement with treatment.

You will be:

Providing an open access, safe place where regular ongoing interventions, including harm reduction strategies, are in place to support individuals who are severely dependent upon alcohol.

The Third Place provides open-door access to showers, laundry facilities, hot meals and drinks. These are currency for engagement and opportunity for a socially functioning support network where pressures and triggers to drink are reduced.  Once engaged people have access to harm reduction advice, physical and mental health interventions and referral, support and accompaniment to mainstream services.

Our delivery model includes:

  • Assertive Outreach into the community
  • Access to Physical and Psychological Health care and necessary secondary care such as the dental bus and wound care
  • Crisis care
  • Intensive therapeutic support to motivate beneficiaries to engage in treatment
  • Recovery buddies to support into, through and out of alcohol treatment and into recovery
