Community Outreach Officer (Reaching Communities)

Capital of Cycling Outreach Officer (Reaching Communities) http://www.capitalofcycling.org/outreach/

The purpose of the job is to catalyse the development of community led opportunities within cycling across the Bradford region.  It’s about ‘reaching out’ to diverse groups and organisations to help them build capacity to meet their own needs.  The role involves collectively imagining how we can transform spaces, where cycling contributes to a healthier, happier, more livable district. Don’t be put off if you don’t have much cycling experience as we are most interested in personal skills which could have been developed in unrelated areas.

You will spend a good portion of your time ‘out and about’, building links and supporting the establishment and development of activities and  groups.

Application Process

Send a brief cover letter to info@capitalofcycling.org along with a recent CV (ideally one page). We must receive this before noon on Monday 26th of October.

The letter should describe your initial thoughts about the role, why you think you’d be suitable and, based on the information in the job description, what your approach would be to the role. It should be no more than two sides of A4.

You should familiarise yourself both with the job description and our policies and procedures.

From this we will shortlist applicants to undertake an online interview.

Amongst other activities, you will be asked to give a 15 minute presentation about the approach that you would bring to the role. More details about the interview stage will be provided to you should you be successful in stage one.
