Parents whose children have additional needs face specific challenges and are entitled to be supported as parent carers. You will help families and local professionals identify parent carers, encouraging them to contact Carers’ Resource. You will work closely with parent carers, listening, advising and supporting them, as well as facilitating on and offline peer support groups. The role includes the provision of information about services and benefits, signposting, emergency planning and advocacy. As a Local Carer Worker, you will be based from our Shipley office, working partly from home, in the local community and in carers’ homes.
