People can make a difference campaign for Bradford district
"Celebrating the amazing work of community minded residents"
News from Bradford Volunteer Centre:
"Throughout 2016 we are celebrating the amazing work of
community minded residents across the Bradford District. From those
people who have set up groups to support flood victims to those who
leave out the wheely bin for elderly neighbours we are encouraging
everyone to have a go at making a difference in 2016.
"Throughout the year events across the Bradford District will
showcase community activity and invite you to get involved. Whether
it's attending a community event (such as supporting a Friends
group in a local park), raising vital funds for charities, reaching
out to an infirm neighbour or volunteering in a community group
there are a range of exciting opportunities that match your skills
"The 2016 People Can Make a
Difference year was launched by the Lord Mayor Cllr Joanne
Dodds in a special celebration in City Hall and will culminate in
the Community Stars awards in December 2016 where fundraisers,
volunteers and community organisations will receive "The Bradford
Medal" to showcase their efforts.
