People can make a difference campaign for Bradford district

"Celebrating the amazing work of community minded residents"

News from Bradford Volunteer Centre:

"Throughout 2016 we are celebrating the amazing work of community minded residents across the Bradford District. From those people who have set up groups to support flood victims to those who leave out the wheely bin for elderly neighbours we are encouraging everyone to have a go at making a difference in 2016.

"Throughout the year events across the Bradford District will showcase community activity and invite you to get involved. Whether it's attending a community event (such as supporting a Friends group in a local park), raising vital funds for charities, reaching out to an infirm neighbour or volunteering in a community group there are a range of exciting opportunities that match your skills and timeframe.

"The 2016 People Can Make a Difference year was launched by the Lord Mayor Cllr Joanne Dodds in a special celebration in City Hall and will culminate in the Community Stars awards in December 2016 where fundraisers, volunteers and community organisations will receive "The Bradford Medal" to showcase their efforts.

"The People Can Make A Difference Year is supported by charities and community groups working in partnership with statutory organisations from health services to the West Yorkshire Police and Bradford Council.
