CHAS @ St Vincent's

Description CHAS @ St Vincent's (formerly CHAS Bradford) was founded nearly 50 years ago by volunteers from two local Catholic Churches. However we are not a religious organisation and our services are open to everyone regardless of their beliefs. Our principle reason for operating is to prevent homelessness. We assist people in a variety of ways through specialist level legal advice in Debt and Housing, general immigration and welfare benefits advice, a floating support service and a furniture re-use scheme. For up to date information on where and when you can receive our assistance, please see our website. We still greatly appreciate the contributions of volunteers so please contact us if you are interested in our work.

Advice Services

CHAS @ St Vincent's currently operates at Specialist Level in both Housing and Debt, and general level for welfare benefits and immigration. We occasionally take on pilot projects which may be outside of these remits so please also check our website. We operate from a wide variety of venues across the Bradford District as well as City House. We offer an appointment based system and telephone advice, if an appointment is required clients will be offered the next available session at the venue most convenient for them. For all advice services please initially contact our main office on 01274 726790, Monday to Friday, 9am - 4pm. Outside these hours please leave a message and someone will return your call; or alternatively email us (see link below) with details of your enquiry.

Support Services

CHAS @ St Vincent's holds a contract with Bradford Council to assist clients who are vulnerable to repeat homelessness. Anyone can apply for our scheme if they live in rented accommodation and have reason to believe they need to learn skills so they can keep to their tenancy agreement. Our staff will work with clients for up to two years assisting them to learn household skills such as budgeting, or to become active in their community, or to develop themselves through accessing training and/or employment. For referrals please contact CHAS Support Service on 01274 726790, Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm. Outside these hours please leave a message and someone will return your call; or alternatively email us (see link below) with details of your enquiry.
