Race Equality Network (REN - formerly COEMO) is an infrastructure support organisation working across West Yorkshire to support frontline BME and faith-based organisations and networks. As an umbrella body for the BME voluntary and community sector in the Bradford District, our role is to develop, support, promote and represent the interests of the BME voluntary and community sector. REN delivers a range of projects to help support and build the capacity of frontline BME voluntary and community groups. REN's strategic role is to help build an infrastructure for the Black and Minority Ethnic Sector, and to help individual groups and communities in a changing and challenging environment. REN offers voluntary and community groups the opportunity to network with other small and larger organisations, share best practice, obtain advice, guidance and support on funding issues, governance, management committee training and many other areas in order to sustain their hard work. We also provide practical services, advice and support to voluntary groups including: signposting, helping write and implement policies and procedures, advice on charity law, employment, constitutions, grants, marketing and developing websites etc. We have a website with latest information, with a range of links and suitable contacts. We have a wide circulation list and produce regular e-bulletins and newsletters to disseminate valuable information We also facilitate partnerships between voluntary and statutory agencies, enabling groups to influence policy makers on issues affecting them. We have pioneered many partnership projects across Bradford, and widely across West Yorkshire to support frontline community groups.
