Volunteering Practice
Volunteering support for groups
There is a variety of support available to groups for
volunteering. This support includes:
- Support managing volunteers - one to one advice/ training
- Help to find new volunteers for your group - for example
advertising
- Help to develop opportunities for volunteers within your
group
- Developing volunteering policies
There are two specialist voluntary and community infrastructure
organisations in Bradford District that provide comprehensive
services on all aspects of volunteering. They are Bradford Volunteer Centre,
and Keighley and
District Volunteer Centre.

Contact one of the above centres for guidance, and they may
sign-post you on to other organisations if you require a particular
specialism.
Volunteering support for individuals
If you yourself are looking to be a volunteer then again the two
above organisations are your best starting point. They can help
match you up with a suitable organisation.
In addition you could look at individual listings on DIVA
yourself to find groups that may be interested in having you as a
volunteer. All groups on DIVA are asked whether they take on
volunteers, and if they do, it should say so on their page. If you
already know the type of group you would like to volunteer with
(for example a group close to where you live or a group that works
with a particular group of people) then why not try drilling down
through the main DIVA directory.
