RMC oversees basketball in Yorkshire. Provides training for regional squads at U13, U15 and U17 (girls and boys). Registers players in Yorkshire with England Basketball. Provides information on courses, clubs etc.

Yorkshire Campaign For Nuclear Disarmament

Yorkshire CND campaigns on nuclear weapons, nuclear power and peace issues. We are currently campaigning against the renewal of <a href="http://www.yorkshirecnd.org.uk/campaigns/nuclear-weapons/scrap-trident/"..., Britain's nuclear weapons system which will cost over �100 billion to implement. Locally we are also active in research and awareness raising of the role of local bases such as <a href="http://www.yorkshirecnd.org.uk/campaigns/menwith-hill/">Menwith Hill</a> and <a href="http://www.yorkshirecnd.org.uk/campaigns/fylingdales/">Fylingdales</a> in "<a href="http://www.yorkshirecnd.org.uk/campaigns/missile-defence/">US Missile Defence</a>" and how they perpetuate nuclear proliferation and conflict globally. We campaign using a variety of strategies including informing and educating, research, lobbying, media work, direct action and demonstrating. A variety of campaign materials are available from Yorkshire CND and further information on our current campaigns is available from our website. Our network of committed activists and volunteers play a vital role in our campaigning work and we welcome new members or volunteers.

Yorkshire Canary Club

To promote the keeping, breeding and exhibition of the Yorkshire Canary, famous worldwide and known as the 'gentleman of the bird keeping fancy'.
Membership by application. Membership fees: �15 all categories. Free to juniors up to the age of 16.
Open shows last full weekend in October. Shows held at Askham Bryan College, Askham Bryan, York, YO23 3FR

Yorkshire Classic Motor Cycle Club

To promote and organise British Bike competitive events for enthusiasts of British Bikes of the era prior to 1965. Membership by application. Meet at the Bronte Hotel,Lees Lane,Haworth, Nr Keighley on First Tuesday in the month at 8:00pm. Events on Sundays. Approx two events per month.

Yorkshire Contract Bridge Association

YCBA has 34 affiliated bridge clubs in all parts of the county. Details of names of club secretaries can be found on website or contact Julia Staniforth.

Yorkshire Countrywomen's Association - Eldwick and District Branch

The YCA is a friendly social group of ladies who meet the second Tuesday in the month at 7.30pm to 11pm at Eldwick Memorial Hall, nr Bingley.
We have regular speakers, film showings, craft competitions and a party and outing once a year. Every Christmas we meet up with other Yorkshire Country Women's associations in York for a carol service.
It was formed in 1983 to further interests of Country Women throughout the whole of the original (pre 1974) geographical county of Yorkshire. It is run by members for members, is non-sectarian and non-party political.

Yorkshire Countrywomen's Association - Idle Branch

At the moment we are a small group (14) of ladies over 50.
We have been together for a long time. We occasionally have speakers and have trips out. We meet once a month on the second Monday at Springdale Community Centre, Idle.

Yorkshire Cricket Board

The Yorkshire Cricket Board promotes and develops amateur cricket across the County. We work with a range of statutory and voluntary agency partners in developing the amateur game, with our development remit covering women and girls cricket; cricket for people with a disability or visual impairment; Black & Minority Ethnic cricket; and support to clubs, cricket leagues, volunteers and schools to promote wider participation in the game at both a junior and senior level.

Yorkshire Dales Sailing Club

To promote the sport of sailing and windsurfing. 300 acres of water available. Cruising and racing sailors, windsurfers and day visitors all welcome. Day visitors fee-�10.00/�15.00 (subject to review) only when there is official sailing (Saturday/Sunday). No boat hire available. Groups welcome by arrangement. Membership available to all. Open all year round at Grimwith Reservoir, near Pateley Bridge on Saturdays from 12.00hrs, Sunday from 11.00hrs, and Wednesdays from 18.30hrs (BST only). A new clubhouse is now available providing excellent facilities.

Yorkshire Dance Centre

Yorkshire Dance champions the value of dance and its development in Yorkshire. We do so by raising standards, increasing knowledge and understanding and fostering creativity and innovation.
We create opportunities for people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities to see, make and take part in high quality dance that is rooted in their creativity, in their lives and in their communities, with the power to transform and inspire.
We create opportunities for emerging and established artists and practitioners to research, create and present new contemporary work on the small scale, and in communities, developing their skills, expertise and networks.
We create opportunities for people to experience dance by working with partners in local authorities and the arts, in health and in sport, building a region-wide infrastructure for dance development.
We offer dance classes, courses and workshops in everything from Ballet to Bollywood (these include sessions for children and over 50's). Yorkshire Dance also provides high quality dance performance at a wide range of venues accross Yorkshire. We look forward to hearing from you.

Yorkshire Dialect Society

Encourages the study, writing and recording of dialect. Free to members are two annual publications about dialect. Arranges several meetings each year in various parts of the old county, publishes a wide range of dialect literature, audio tapes and CD's Dialect enquiries require a S.A.E. Open to anyone interested in the study and research of the Yorkshire dialects and/or reading or writing dialect prose and poetry. All enquiries, including media, to Publicity/Information Officer. Yorkshire Dragonfly Group

Find out about dragonflies, how to identify them, where to see them and information on their study and conservation in Yorkshire. Members are able to attend two indoor, several outdoor meetings and receive a publication each year for a nominal fee.

Yorkshire Enduro Club

Organisation of and competing in `Enduro' type off road motorcycle sport and trail riding. Membership open to all. Meet at the Valley Inn, 68 Whitehall Road, Drighlington, BD11 1NB on the first Monday of the month at 9.00pm.(Where the first Monday is a Bank Holiday, meet on the second Monday). AGM December. Approx 300 members.

Yorkshire Foreign Bird Society

To promote the breeding, keeping and exhibiting of all foreign birds. Membership open. Meetings held on the third Tuesday of the month at 8.00pm.

Yorkshire Geological Society

To extend the knowledge of the science of Geology and to promote and record the results of geological research with particular emphasis on the North of England. Founded in 1837. Membership is by Application to the Membership Secretary. Around a dozen meetings held a year, including summer field meetings plus a wide programme of special activities with associated local societies and groups for Yorkshire Geology Month in May/June of each year. Meetings are held across the region served, from Northumberland to Nottinghamshire, including Leeds, Hull, York and Scarborough. We publish both popular field guides and half yearly proceedings. AGM and President's Address is held in December. Approx 600 members.

Yorkshire Housing: Help at Hand Services

Yorkshire Housing is now able to extend some of its services which support older and vulnerable people to remain living independently in their own homes, to the Leeds and Bradford areas.
Our services are very flexible and are centred around an individual's needs, whether that be just someone to provide a befriending service to reduce social isolation or some assistance with basic household chores that have just become a little bit too difficult.

Yorkshire Mammal Group

YMG promotes the scientific study of mammals and encourages a wider public interest in mammals and mammal conservation particularly in Yorkshire. We have regular guest lectures and organise fieldwork. Membership open to anyone interested in mammals and conservation.
