Wharfedale Scone Roses

Wharfedale Scone Roses is a branch of the Women's Institute based in Burley in Wharfedale. Annual membership charges apply.
Wharfedale Scone Roses meet every 4th Thursday in the month 7.30 to 9.30pm at Burley Social Club, which offers comfortable accommodation and refreshments.
We have a wide range of guests, offering ladies the opportunity to meet other members, socialise and learn something new.

Wharfedale Speakers Club - Otley

We are a friendly and welcoming organisation concerned with the encouragement and development of the ability to speak in public, for professional or personal reasons. We meet fortnightly in the Scout Headquarters, Burras Lane, Otley (opposite the parish church)at 7.45 for 8pm from September until May, beginning on Sept.7th. We have joint meetings with other speakers' clubs in the area, and once a year we meet nationally. There are social activities too and it is pleasant to belong. All normal club meetings are held on the first and third Wednesday evening of each month (September until May). We hold an annual schools' speech competion.

White Rose support vulnerable adults and older people. White Rose staff and trained and DBS checked to deliver services around promoting individuals health wellbeing, independence, reducing isolation and promote positive mental health

Barbershop chorus based at the Rawdon and Guiseley Conservative Club, Rawdon, Leeds always seeking new male members to sing with us.

White Rose Sugar Art Club

To share knowledge of cake making and all types of decoration on celebration cakes eg. wedding, birthday and anniversary cakes
Membership by application at our meeting.
Meet at Shipley Library, 2 Wellcroft, Shipley usually on the second Friday of each month at 7:15pm.

Why Don't We

“Why Don’t We” offers a range of creative opportunities which enable adults with learning difficulties to express themselves and tackle issues affecting their lives. We are a small charity, which runs weekly groups, using a wide range of media such as art, photography, video making and sound recording to enable the voices of participants to be heard clearly.

The group is open to anyone over the age of 18 with an interest in our mission.

We work with organisations which support people with disabilities and meet regularly to engage in activity.

Wilsden Art Group

Wilsden Art Group meet every Monday at 2-4pm in the village hall. The tutor is Chris Rouse. The class is suitable for beginners or those who wish to improve. Most people paint in water colour but it is possible to have tuition in other mediums. Chris also runs classes in his Fulneck Gallery, Pudsey, Mon & Tues 7.15-9.15pm & Tues 2-4pm and also in the church hall of St Philip's and St James' church, Scholes, on Wednesdays, 10am to 12 noon.

Wilsden Badminton Club

Social and league badminton. Membership by invitation and by application. Meet at Bradford Grammar School opposite Lister Park on Wednesdays (Juniors 6-7pm, Seniors 7-10pm) from Sept til the end of April. AGM May. Approx 30-40 members.

Wilsden Gardening Association

To provide for the interests of all members in their gardening activities and to supply materials when needed. Membership open. The committee meets at Wilsden Conservative Club on the third Monday of each month at 7.45pm 'Hut' shop open Sundays as follows: 10:00am-12:00noon February-July. 10:00am-11:00am July-autumn. AGM February. Approx 200 members. We hold three annual events: 3rd Sunday in May - Spring fair 3rd Sunday in September - main show

Wilsden Squash Club

Membership by application. The club plays both squash and racquet ball and anyone of any age interested in these sports is welcome. Located behind Wilsden Village Hall. Facilities available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Members have their own keys to the club. Telephone bookings after 7:00pm. Coaching available. Licensed bar 7:00pm-11:00pm Mon-Fri. AGM May.

Wilsden Thursday Afternoon Group

We meet each week at Wilsden Village Hall. Entertainment is provided, eg music, talks, slides etc. We have monthly outings in summer and celebrate Harvest and Christmas. At Christmas, a lunch (with entertainment) is held.

Wilsden Wellbeing Café

<p>A social group for any older person who is feeling isolated or depressed, or has dementia or memory problems to attend with their spouse or carer. We meet on the first Wednesday of every month from 1.30-3.30pm at St Matthew&#8217;s Church, Main Street, Wilsden, BD15 0DZ.</p>
<p>Free refreshments, entertainment and dancing in a fun and friendly environment, as well as information on services and support available to help you.</p>

Wilsden Women's Institute (WI)

To give countrywomen the opportunity of working together, to improve and develop the conditions of country life, putting into practice the ideals for which it stands-fellowship, truth, tolerance and justice. To educate, entertain and enhance the lives of all women. Meet at Trinity Church, Wilsden, on the first Monday of each month at 7:30 pm. except bank holidays. AGM held in March. Approx 60 members.

Women and Children's Holiday Centre

Providing low cost holiday accommodation for women with or without children in lovely countryside, big garden, open fires (boys up to 11th birthday, or up to 15th birthday on selected weeks). Cost is on a sliding scale starting from �10 a night which includes all meals (vegetarian/vegan) on a self-catering or shared cooking basis. See address for contact person. In addition, the house can be booked by groups of women, or women and children, for a minimum of 2 nights.

Womenzone Aerobics

Women 16 and over only. Costs £2 per session, free for those with Womenzone gym membership. Referral information available all day on Mondays.

Womenzone Community Centre

Womenzone aims to promote health and well-being and create fairer access to services for women and children in the local area. We take a community development approach, seeking to support women to capitalise upon and build their own strengths for the benefit of their families and communities. To this end we:

• Engage more women in community activities,
• Encourage women to have a voice and have a fresh and varied thinking and perspective,
• Enable women to find their inner confidence and;
• Empower women to start their journey by nurturing their ideas and mentoring women to achieve their goals

Woodroyd Nursery

Our purpose built nursery has been specifically designed to ensure that all children have access to as many different experiences as possible whilst developing an age appropriate level of independence.
Each piece of equipment has been chosen with care and thought from the scientific and cultural activities to the dinner plates and children's peg labels.
Each area is designated to create a warm, secure and exciting space for children to explore and learn.

Workers Educational Association - Bradford Branch

Adult education in liberal and humanitarian studies. Membership is by registering and attending classes as a student. Venues at Bradford and Shipley, as published in brochure, leaflets and on the WEA website. All venues we use have disabled access.
