Bierley Regeneration Launch

Start date and time: 2nd April 2019 7:00pm
End date and time: 2nd April 2019 9:00pm

The Neighbourhood Project is a not-for-profit organisation based in Bierley, looking to work with people on the future of the neighbourhood. We want to involve residents and people who work, volunteer or just have an interest in Bierley to raise awareness about how it can be changed for the better, your rights and how to put this into practice.

We are going to run a series of talks looking at different subjects called the Bierley Regeneration Programme, all designed to either give people greater influence over decisions that affect them or help protect the environment in Bierley. This will cover matters such as setting up neighbourhood umbrella bodies, community assets and neighbourhood planning powers to growing food locally, improving recycling and community owned renewable energy. Each talk will be followed with a ‘workshop’ where people with ideas for a new project, campaign or community group can attend to get support to develop them further and we have a small amount of start-up funding to put new ideas into practice.

We would like to invite you to our programme’s launch event, light refreshments provided, to find out more and see if you want to get involved. This will take place on the evening of Tuesday 2nd April 2019, 7pm to 9pm, in the main hall at the Life Centre, 102-104 Bierley House Avenue, BD4 6BU.
