About this Event

The symposium will focus on the importance of evidence-based whole system approaches to equalising educational opportunities and attainment and supporting social mobility.

The objectives of the symposium entitled, ‘Equalising Opportunities: a whole systems approach to social mobility’ are to:

1. Enable leaders in the fields of education, community development, health and social care, government and business to share best practice and consider further policy developments to equalise educational opportunities and attainment.

2. Establish an in-depth understanding of the role Universities in equalising educational opportunities and attainment

3. Showcase the University of Bradford’s outstanding contribution to access and progression that culminated in the award of 2020 University of the Year for Social Inclusion by the Times and Sunday Times

4. Mobilise partnerships across the Bradford and Leeds City region that will support a whole system approach that and reduce gaps in educational opportunity and attainment and promote social mobility.

Speakers will include national and regional leaders and influencers who will open a city wide discussion on this important agenda.

We want this symposium to bring together educators, policy holders, experts in social mobility, inclusion, equality and diversity, access and participation teams, employers, support organisations, students, and communities who have an interest and investment in social mobility. It will be an opportunity to network and discuss ways we can work together to support the development of Bradford and the District.

Please join us and pass this invite to any colleagues who may be interested in attending.
