WYCAS Financial Storytelling

Start date and time: 3rd November 2021 1:30pm
End date and time: 3rd November 2021 6:30pm

We are really excited to be offering a limited number of free places on the brilliant ‘Financial Storytelling’ course led by our good friends Rachel Cooper and Liz Pepler from Embrace Finance. Rachel and Lis have a wealth of experience in the charity finance sector and really know how to bring their subject to life.

Who should attend The training is suitable for employed staff or trustees who are responsible for the finances of small charities. It isn’t a technical course and you don’t need a background in finance.

What you will learn In this session we will:

  • Revisit the first principles of effective storytelling as they apply to our finances
  • See what it looks like when we have a compelling narrative of our financial history, financial present and possible financial future(s)
  • Think about how this can strengthen our financial governance, our financial management and our financial security

At the end of the session, our aim is that you will have a good understanding of:

  • What financial storytelling is
  • Why it’s important
  • What “good” looks like

Plus, an outline of your own financial story and a clear set of next steps for developing that outline.

Cost: This training session is free to employed finance staff or trustees of third sector organisations based in Leeds Bradford, Calderdale and Kirklees. As there are a limited number of places available and there is no charge, we can only offer one place per organisation. If you book but are unable to attend, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can make your place available to someone else.

Where: Online over Zoom, log in details will be emailed to you a few days before the event.
