We are seeking a full time Community Educator to work within the Community Intervention Team. Under the direction of the Team leader the post holder will, through education, training and promotional initiatives, up skill colleagues, other professionals, service users, carers, community groups and employers with the best practice for the screening and delivery of brief interventions for substance misuse and the wider understanding of the harm caused by the substance misuse.

In addition, the post holder will provide one-off brief interventions to appropriate individuals and facilitate access, where indicated, into a treatment pathway.  

The post holder will operate across the Bradford District, especially within educational establishments, GP practices, private and public sector employers health and social care services and the within the wider community settings, raising awareness of the substance misuse treatment and recovery system.  

The post holder will need to work flexibly within an agreed number of hours as required and to maintain the most appropriate level of service provision.  This may involve weekend and evening working.
