Responsible to:                 Team Manager New Directions

Salary:                                  £19,819 per annum pro-rata for 17 hours per week

Hours:                                  Tuesday 12noon - 8pm (with a 30 minute unpaid break) 

                                              Wednesday 1pm - 5pm 

                                              Thursday 9.15 – 4.15pm (with a 30 minute unpaid break) 

The post holder is expected to be flexible with regard to working hours in order to meet the requirements of the post.

Location:                             All service site locations in Bradford, therefore ability to travel independently is required

Service Overview

This programme is part of the New Directions Substance misuse adult treatment service in Bradford. The service is available to any person who is affected by somebody else’s substance misuse, is 18 years or over and living in the Bradford Metropolitan District.

The post holder will provide support and interventions to those affected by someone else’s substance misuse including parents, carers, family and friends- reducing pressure and increasing quality of life.

The post holder will deliver a range of supports depending on the needs of the individual, these are expected to include;

  • Irregular and Ad hoc one off contact
  • Structured brief interventions
  • Assessment of needs and risks including safeguarding  
  • Care planning/ review and multi-agency meetings where appropriate
  • Structured programme of individual support within the recognised framework for the programme, typically up to 12 sessions  
  • Onward referral
  • Departure planning and aftercare planning
  • Facilitated group delivery 

It is expected that the Concerned Other Worker will self-generate and respond to internal referrals.
