Youth Cafe Coordinator

Bread + Roses operates a Youth Cafe, funded by NHS Bradfordas a pilot for wellbeing cafes in Bradford District. The aim is to create somewhere for young people to grow in confidence, providing a safe space to make their own.

 

We’re looking for someone to maintain the monthly programme of activities, oversee the sessions and monitor the project. This is a great opportunity to be part of an innovative project improving wellbeing; including programming, community engagement and event monitoring. Training and support will be provided by Bread + Rosesand NHS Bradford.

 

 

 

Reports to: Bread + Roses, NHS Bradford.

 

Contract details: £8.21 per hour, 20 hours per week. 

 

Usual working hours: Flexible, with the expectation to attend Youth Cafe sessions on (Monday and Wednesday from 4-7pm)

 

 

The role

 

Engagement

 

  • Maintain relationships with event hosts, participants, and partners.

  • Attend Youth Cafe events and create content for instagram and snapchat.

  • Promote youth cafe to encourage new participants and retain current participants.

Programming

 

  • Manage a programme of events (art, media, music, crafts) that is led by young people.

  • Create and print monthly programme with Bread + Roses team.

  • Handle invoicing of event hosts with Finance Manager

Monitoring

 

  • Record attendance of each event.

  • Carry out wellbeing questionnaires to provide evidence of the effectiveness of the programme.

  • Produce one case study per month on participant wellbeing (training provided).

  • Record information and produce a quarterly report with proof of outcomes, to be submitted to commissioners from NHS Bradford.

Requirements

 

Essential

 

  • Experience working with young people

  • Networks and contacts in Bradford

  • Experience of delivering new projects

  • Commitment to working independently and problem solving

  • Commitment to creating a safe space for all

Desirable

 

  • DBS check and broad understanding of safeguarding issues

  • Experience with event monitoring and social impact reporting

  • An aptitude for producing creative content

  • Passionate about Bradford and its young people
