Environmental Lead Project Worker

15 hours per week £20,430 FTE (£10.47 per hour)

Plus additional project delivery hours paid on a sessional basis.

BEES

Bradford Environmental Education Service (BEES) is the environmental department of  YMCA Bradford. We offer a broad range of environmental education opportunities to young people, individuals, community groups, schools and businesses; enabling and inspiring people to make a positive contribution to their local environment, develop skills and explore the natural environment. Providing Environmental Education since 1985 BEES is a well-established department and we are looking for  someone to take us forward in our next stage of development.

 

Environmental Lead Project Worker

The post holder will develop and deliver a range of environmental education programmes, with a focus on people and wildlife. The key role will be to continue to develop a successful volunteer conservation group, the postholder will have a sound knowledge of practical habitat management skills and a desire to share this with a wide range of volunteers. The post holder will also facilitate a volunteer led Field Visit programme and work with schools and community groups, with the opportunity to develop new projects through contract opportunities and funding applications. 

 

 Job Role:
Responsibility for planning and delivery of Environmental Programmes funded through grants.


  • Developing partnership work with schools, community groups, businesses and statutory organisations; including developing contracts and tenders.

  • Planning and delivery of education sessions to schools and community groups

  • Planning and coordination of environmental and conservation volunteering opportunities

A working week of 15 hours per week including a regular Friday task day, this post may involve occasional afterschool and evening work. Additional hours will be paid on a sessional basis depending on project delivery.
