Children and Families Project Worker

Barnardo's in Rotherham have an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Project Worker to become part of a new Child Sexual Abuse/Child Sexual Exploitation  (CSA/CSE) project. The aim of this work is to research and explore how we can best support Muslim communities' to access appropriate support and how we can best meet any specific needs within our service delivery . It is essential that we recruit a  BME Muslim male who is self-motivated, flexible and who has experience of working with children and families, to join our dynamic team to help us deliver excellent services to children and families in Rotherham. The role will include engaging  with BME Muslim communities across Rotherham to raise awareness of CSA/CSE issues, to increase accessibility of services within those communities as well as supporting research activities. These activities may include:

  • Direct work with children

  • Facilitating group work

  • Development of a steering group

  • Awareness raising in schools, local communities and external agencies

  • Supporting and facilitating strong partnership working
