Digital Engagement Worker

Yorkshire MESMAC is a group of independent community based sexual health and social wellbeing services that are committed to developing and delivering services that are responsive to the needs of our communities.

We have an exciting opportunity to improve the sexual health of those most at risk, living in Bradford, via the use of social media and other digital engagement work.

We are seeking to appoint the following: Digital Engagement Worker – Bradford (14 hours)

Overall Aim:

  • To utilise digital media and platforms, to reduce the incidence of HIV, STIs and risky sexual behaviour in Bradford.
  • To ensure that people in Bradford have access to high quality appropriate, accessible information and effective signposting online.

Prime Objectives

  • To offer design and graphics support to staff developing printed resources and ambient media.
  • To ensure that service users have access to accurate information about the range of local sexual health, mental health and wellbeing services available.

Main Responsibilities & Duties (list not exhaustive – please refer to the job description and person specification on our website for more details).

  1. To ensure digital content is comprehensive, current and accurate.
  2. To make appropriate and timely updates to the Yorkshire MESMAC Website
  3. To increase community reach on a variety of platforms e.g. Twitter, Facebook, Bareback RT, African Singles and Adult Works.
  4. To train staff and volunteers to use digital platforms in their health promotion activity.
  5. To work with other local providers eg Locala and the Trinity Centre to ensure effective signposting to and from partner agencies.
  6. To work with staff and partner agencies to develop online sexual health ‘self-assessment tools.’
  7. To take the lead in developing the video content of Yorkshire MESMAC resources.
  8. To liaise with web designers to ensure that Yorkshire MESMAC website remains current.
  9. To develop, maintain and use systems for monitoring digital engagement work.
  10. To produce regular reports on digital engagement activity.

Salary: NJC scale 5 (points 19 - 22) starting at £24,799 pro rata per annum for 14 hours per week. Contract is fixed term until 30th July 2020 (with the possibility of up to a 2 year extension). There is a 5% workplace pension and membership of Simply Health (on completion of probationary period). Salary is reviewed annually. This post is subject to an Enhanced DBS check.
