Trustee {HELP PEOPLE HELP THEMSELVES}

At Project 6 we work alongside individuals, families and communities affected by substance use, and experiencing multiple disadvantages across West and South Yorkshire.

We are recruiting to our Board of Trustees (two voluntary positions) and looking for individuals willing to bring their enthusiasm, energy and creativity to helping improve the lives of people in our communities.

We deliver services in four areas:

  • Young People and families
  • Alcohol and Complex Needs
  • Recovery
  • Training

We exist at the sharp end of dealing with the health inequalities in society and need passionate individuals to help us innovate and fight to address these. We would welcome applications from people with:

  • Lived Experience - especially substance use and people who can help us develop and deliver services that really make a difference
  • Individuals and Entrepreneurs with experience growing and developing a business, because we are looking for new ways to develop our charity and are looking for new ideas and perspectives

We have also recently been challenged to take a long hard look at ourselves in terms of diversity and inclusion and would be delighted to see applications from all the communities we exist to support, particularly people from Black, Asian and other Minority Ethnic and diverse communities who are under represented on our Board, and from first time trustees.

We ask for a commitment to:

  • 6 Board Meetings a year, currently held digitally, normally held in Leeds.
  • A commitment to spending time with the people who use our services 4 times per year at our citizen’s assemblies (minimum)
  • Attendance at an away day every year
  • An estimated commitment of 50 hours per year in total

We offer:

  • Induction, training and support
  • Reimbursement of expenses
  • The chance to support a brilliant organisation delivering invaluable work through a really interesting time
  • The opportunity to improve the health and wellbeing of some of the most marginalised people in our community.

Visit our website where you will find more information about the organisation; complete a values-based quiz and book a phone conversation with Vicki Beere our CEO.

Closing date is 31st January 2021.
