Intervention Worker

6 Month Fixed Term Contract

£20,344 per annum Pro-Rata Per Annum (based on 40 hours)

Horton’s Intervention and Prevention Service (HIPS) provides housing related support to people who are homeless, at risk of homelessness or at risk of losing their tenancy. HIPS also helps people develop the necessary skills and identity opportunities to secure sustainable employment.  HIPS is an outcomes focussed service, delivering person centred, strengths/asset based support interventions to ensure a range of outcomes are achieved.

In the role of Intervention Worker, you will deliver flexible, holistic and person-centred support packages to individuals, adopting a strengths based approach, to ensure housing related support outcomes are achieved. You will work in partnership with your colleagues and other agencies to assist clients to achieve a range of outcomes around accommodation, health, education, training and employment, and improved financial management. You will work to a variety of performance targets based on the individual progression outcomes of clients.

You will have experience of working in a person-centred way, managing a caseload, including developing support plans and providing appropriate support and guidance to people experiencing a range of circumstances including homelessness, ill-health, substance misuse, or offending.   You will have experience of working in close partnership with relevant agencies and organisations to provide holistic support to clients and an up-to-date knowledge of the welfare benefits system.  An understanding of strengths/asset based approaches to support with a track record of meeting and exceeding outcome targets is desirable.

A valid driving license and use of vehicle insured for business use is essential for this role.
