Community Engagement Lead (permanent)

37.5 hours per week

Salary: Spinal Point 17 to 22, £24,491 to £27,041

This is an exciting new role. Communityworks has established a wealth of provision that meets the needs of the local community. The Community Engagement Lead will build on that work and specifically develop more, by working with local adults and children to create an active community that has a more outdoor focus. The role includes being part of the leadership team and line management of the Community Project Team as well as direct delivery within the community. In partnership with our wider team ensure that local people maximise the opportunities available and support an early intervention approach, particularly with their health and well-being. Identify new opportunities to create an active community that seeks to transform our community in ambitious and exciting ways, by tapping into community energy and enthusiasm.

You will have at least 5 years’ recent experience of paid work with people in a similar role to this post. 3 years’ experience of delivering environmental projects. 2 years’ experience of delivering wellbeing sessions with disadvantaged communities. Proven track record of effective outreach work with people who do not speak English as a first language.  A NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant field (health, social care, IAG, community development, youth work, early years) or evidence of appropriate experience working at this level. Very good level of verbal & written English – preferably GCSE standard.

Holidays: 5 weeks plus Bank Holidays
