Fundraising Manager

This is a new, challenging and exciting role; we are building our charity and need an experienced fundraiser to develop income streams that will bring in sustainable funds quickly. This role will work closely with the team and particularly the senior leadership team and Board of Directors. The Fundraising Manager will work for the success of our primary strategic aim:

1. To bridge and surpass the funding gap (deficit); and
2. To quickly bring in additional long-term sustainable funding.

The focus will be on bid writing to generate income streams thus providing new income into the charity, moving us away from our reliance on local authority and trust funding. Some of this new income will enable us to fund our core costs, build up a surplus and to help bring about our strategic aims for the charity. The person we are looking for will have the breadth of experience and knowledge to quickly understand our context and identify appropriate funding opportunities.

Main Responsibilities & Duties:

Raise significant funds in the form of grants from charitable trusts, foundations and statutory bodies, and donations from individuals and companies.  

To generate income from Donors, grant-making trusts and foundations across a number of projects to agreed targets with a focus on large grants (+£100k).

To prepare compelling high quality funding proposals that are strategically relevant and attractive to new and existing  Donors, trusts & foundations.

Maintain the prospect pipeline, submitting and tracking applications and liaising with grant-making bodies at all stages of the process.

Develop a comprehensive rolling programme of targeted and specific funding applications, increasing our average grant amount.

Develop a new individual giving and corporate supporter engagement programme.
