Employability Coach - HIPS

Do you want to make a difference to people going through difficult times? Are you passionate about listening to people, recognising their strengths, and empowering them to achieve their employability ambitions?

About the role

HIPS works alongside people who are experiencing homelessness, are at risk of homelessness, or who are at risk of losing their home due to experiencing difficult times.  At HIPS we facilitate individual development so that people can transition out of difficult circumstances and take control of their lives. An important element of this is helping people to develop the necessary employability skills and to identify opportunities to secure sustainable employment.

We are looking for an Employability Coach to join our team at HIPS in Kirklees. Someone who believes in people and can recognise the individual strengths that every person possesses. A person who is comfortable walking alongside someone to identify and overcome any barriers they may face in achieving their ambitions around employment, training and education.

About You

We want someone passionate about enabling people to use their talents and abilities to solve their own difficulties. A person with an understanding of and/or experience of strength-based, person-led approaches to working alongside people. Someone with a good understanding of the challenges that people experiencing unemployment and/or homelessness may face.

You will have a proven track record of providing advice and assistance around employment, training and education, including assisting people into work. You will be experienced at completing assessments, developing action plans, and providing person-led employability advice, guidance and coaching. You will have or be working towards a Level 3 or higher qualification in Information, Advice and Guidance or similar.

You will have experience of strong partnership working; with employability organisations, employers, work placement provides, and strategic partners. You will be able to deliver workshop activities, including around employability, confidence building, motivation, work readiness, and related activities.
