Maintenance Worker/ Handyman- North Yorkshire

We are looking for a Maintenance Worker/Handyman to join the Maintenance team. This is a permanent full time role working 35 hours per week. Salary is £21,008.00 - £22,220.00 per annum (depending on any trade qualification). Typically working Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm, the service incorporates flexible working arrangements. We offer great benefits including, 6 weeks ‘annual leave plus statutory holidays and a contributory pension scheme. . A valid driving licence is essential for this role. You will work and travel across the North Yorkshire region.

You will …

  • Be responsible for maintenance and repair work including, but not limited to basic, plumbing, joinery, flooring and carpet laying.
  • Have the skill and ability to move, assemble and dismantle furniture including the removal and disposal of household/outdoor items and rubbish.
  • Conduct routine inspections of premises, equipment, properties and land owned or managed by the organisation in order to maintain a high standard and to comply with regulatory standards.
  • Be responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance work of properties and grounds owned or managed by Horton Housing including the travelling community sites.
  • Maintain external grounds including grass cutting, hedge trimming, weeding etc.

Experience is not essential however; you will have an understanding of general maintenance work and have an understanding of the potential risk to health, safety and welfare in maintenance work. A full induction and training is provided
