Mind the Gap is England’s leading learning disability performance and live arts company. We are looking for an Academy Tutor with expertise in Theatre to join our team on a part time, fixed term freelance contract in the first instance.

The successful applicant will be a Theatre tutor with teaching skills. The role will be one day per week (Mondays) between October 2021-July 2022.

The post-holder will work with learning-disabled and/or autistic artists involved with MTG Academy. This role complements that of other Academy tutors with specialist skills in drama/performance, dance/choreography and music. The post holder will specifically lead on the 1-day Theatre Programme, which is our training programme for those students beginning their performance training. The tutor has a responsibility to help embed theatre skills within the Academy, ensuring a high level of learning and accreditation for the students.

The ability to perform and share skills in a range of theatre styles will be an advantage, but those with a particular specialism will still be considered for the post. Previous experience of working with young people and adults with a learning-disability and/or autism is desirable.
