Health Projects Co-Ordinator

Girlington Advice and Training Centre has developed a variety of activities over the years to support health improvement in the community it serves. This is a new post to coordinate existing health project work and to initiate new work based on a community development model in line with funding priorities and the business development plan for the organisation. This will include the development of arts related activities to promote wellbeing with the elderly, women, people with mental health problems and young people. The post holder will be responsible to the Centre Manager.

In addition to the Health Projects Team there is an Advice Team providing a generalist advice service with specialist workers in immigration, welfare benefits and employment rights. There are also a number of other projects based at the centre designed to enhance the lives of residents and promote their interests.

Main Duties

  1. To support and manage existing and new staff in the health project team to meet the overall objectives of the centre and the funders.
  2. To take responsibility for staff attendance and timekeeping, leave booking and capability and performance matters up to, but not including, dismissal.
  3. To identify and respond to staff training and development needs and undertake supervision of staff in the team
  4. To create positive and enabling relationships with colleagues and users of the services
  5. To set up reporting systems for individual staff in the team and to coordinate the collection of data and ensure reports are made on time to the centre manager and funders.
  6. To identify areas for development and plan for how these developments will be carried out.
  7. To help the team to respond to changing priorities when the objectives of funders change.
  8. To organise effective team meetings and keep records of these.
  9. To attend meetings with outside agencies.
  10. To work within the policies of the Girlington Centre and in particular the Confidentiality Policy, Safeguarding, GDPR and the Equal Opportunities Policy
  11. To ensure that services meet the needs of a diverse and multicultural community, and actively combat the effects of poverty and disadvantage.
  12. To stimulate the development of arts based activities.
