Key responsibilities

  • To support older people and those with disabilities.
  • To take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the group sessions and one-to-one support.
  • To plan a range of activities for service users in partnership with other members of the team.

Job description

The job involves working with older people, young people and women, including those with emotional needs.  You will   encourage people to be  active by supporting, involving, engaging and empowering them to run regular Self-Help activities and befriending at home.

Undertake any other duties appropriate to the post as directed by your line manager.

Conditions of work

16 hours per week fixed for one year to start with. To be reviewed after 3 months

Pay £10.50 per hour (depending on work experience and age). 

Training

In-house training will be provided for those without prior experience, but you will start with the State Minimum Wage to be reviewed after 3 months.

Further information

  • Previous experience is necessary, though training will be provided.
  • Ability to drive and access to the use of a vehicle will be appreciated but not essential.
