Housing Support Worker

Would you like to make a difference to people experiencing difficult times? 

The New Start team is looking for a Housing Support Worker to join their team. You will be responsible for assisting people in the practical and emotional aspects of maintaining their accommodation, providing flexible support to meet their individual’s needs around their physical, mental and emotional health and well-being. You will deliver tenancy ready training to enable people to move on to long-term permanent housing.

You will have experience of working with people who may be experiencing a range of circumstances such as homelessness, ill health, a history of offending, mental health challenges, drugs and/or alcohol use. Your experience may have been gained through work experience in a paid or voluntary capacity, or have lived experience. You will have an understanding and/or experience of strength-based, person-led approaches to working with individuals. You will have worked in an accommodation environment and have housing management and tenancy management experience, or have a relevant vocational qualification.

This is a Full Time position, 35 hours a week salary £22,660 per annum. You will work a flexible schedule, including weekends and occasional bank holidays. A valid driving licence and a vehicle for business use is required for this role. An enhanced DBS check will be required.
