Outreach Worker

Based: Bradford        

Salary: NJC scale £19,554 - £21,166  

Hours: 37 hours per week. Some evening / early morning outreach    

Contract: 12-month fixed term contract 

Leave: 25 days increasing one day per year till 28 days plus bank holidays

Simon on the streets have an exciting opportunity to deliver support to the homeless and vulnerable in Leeds, Bradford and Kirklees.

The role is for an outreach worker to deliver emotional and practical support to people who are homeless or in unsafe accommodation. You will deliver trauma informed support on a one to one basis through daily outreach on the street or in temporary accommodation. You will befriend, signpost and advocate for our clients whilst increasing their confidence and addressing any unmet needs. You will need to be physically fit as you walk around the areas on outreach during the day but also on some evening and early morning sessions.

Some experience of working with clients who have or are facing homelessness would be an advantage, but we are concentrating more on the right person joining the team who is positive, confident, understanding and shows empathy in some of the most difficult situations.
