Description:

BEACON provides hospitality and practical support to asylum seekers in Bradford and the surrounding area through four projects:
McKenzie Friends - volunteers provide legal support to asylum seekers who do not have access to legal representation
CHAT Phoenix House - refreshments, a listening ear and signposting for people waiting for hearings at Phoenix House Immigration and Asylum Tribunal Hearing Centre in Bradford on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings
CHAT English Club - a free English conversation club open to all non-English speakers wishing to improve their spoken English
Hosting Project - accommodation for destitute asylum seekers in volunteers' homes
