BTM works across the country but particularly; Bradford and Airedale Wharfedale and Craven District creating and delivering accessible information for those people who have difficulty with the written word. We are a registered charity and company limited by guarantee that owns a 3 storey office and training room facility in a city location with parking. We hold contracts with the Department of Health and Well Being, CBMDC, Engaging people as a partner with HALE for the CCG's and the Bradford Districts and Airedale CCG's Accessible Information delivery work as well as a thriving social enterprise.
We have over 30 years’ experience in enabling and facilitating groups of disabled people to produce accessible information in a wide range of formats from British Sign Language to EasyRead, audio recording, Animations, Film clips, iBook’s and plain English.
BTM's accessible information projects, led by disabled people, are respected and recognised across the district. We have a range of experienced working groups of people who have learning disabilities, people with a visual impairment, mental health service users and d/Deaf people who are British Sign Language users. They begin by discussing the topics and brain storming the most appropriate formats for the designated audience. Once this has been agreed the group then design the new information format and put it together, testing with other relevant wider district focus groups to ensure it is understandable and accessible. We always have a waiting list of people wishing to join the work teams.
BTM also delivers training on the NHS Accessible Information Standard, interactive group workshops and on line ELearning programmes are tailor made to the needs of any Health and Social Care organisation. We have delivered training to CBMDC Residential, Domiciliary and Nursing Home Staff, The GP Practices and many other charitable organisations outside the Bradford District.
